A Labour of Love
Come with me on a tour of Carole's English garden transformation, a true labour of love over the past eight years. What was once a neglected suburban wasteland has been completely transformed into a flourishing garden full of colour, scent, and wildlife.
Gardening is Carole's passion, and through lots of trial, error, and perseverance, she's created a space that not only looks beautiful but also supports bees, birds, and other wildlife. If you love seeing how a garden can evolve with care, patience, and creativity, you’ll enjoy this tour.

You can watch the tour and my interview with Carole on YouTube. Read on for more photos.
A Consuming Passion

Carole started work on the bare patch of land at the back of the bungalow she shares with husband, Roger, as soon as they moved in, eight years ago.
"I knew what I wanted to do, but that summer when I was digging, it was so hot!"

Before

During
The result has been worth it. Come rain or shine, Carole can be found tending her garden, adding to it over the years to create an oasis of calm in a busy suburban area in Northampton, England. And not just for humans! She tells me:
"We've had foxes, hedgehogs, all kinds of birds, including a sparrowhawk. Once, we even captured a muntjac on our night camera!"

Gardening - good for mind and body
Whilst it's obvious that gardening has kept 80 year old Carole fit and strong, she also thinks it's good for mental health. She says:
"I couldn't bear it if I couldn't come out here. If you feel stressed, just come out, hear the birds, smell the flowers - and pull up the weeds!"
